FWIW the profiles that came with my R2400 Epson printer have 'copyright by Seiko Epson' in them, whereas the extra profiles supplied by Epson USA have 'copyright X-rite' in them.

I could be wrong here, but it seems very unlikely that a company like Epson
is going to use a commercial-grade profiling package to build their generic
profiles. It's almost a certainty that a copmany that size has their own
profile building algorithms.
