Hi Robert,
I did the steps you described bellow and I got the message "Your
software is already licensed to another computer"... As I'm getting
different computer-id numbers from the same computer, one id from my
current version (4.0.0) and another id for the new one (4.1.2), their
"system" believes that I'm trying to install the same license in two
different computers !!!
Best regards,
Lorenzo

Lorenzo,
Had the very same issues. These are the steps I had to take:
1) Get a TAN number from basiColor. You should have this already if you
bought the initial product. If not, you can email them...see bottom of this
email for contact info.
2) You then need to get a license. You get that by going here:
http://license.basiccolor.de/login.asp?oemId=1&language=EN
3) You need to log in on this page.
4) At the next page you select "Licensing" from the left side menus.
5) On this next page you enter the TAN number you have, and the "machine ID"
that comes up on the very first welcome splash screen that pops up when you
start the program (upper edge of screen), and hit the SUBMIT button.
6) This will bring you to a page to download the license file (*.lic). Copy
the file to the same directory that contains the program. On a Windows
machine, this is usually:
"C:\Program Files\basICColor Software\basICColor display 4.1". Then close
the basiColor Display program, and relaunch. The program will operate
properly.
If you still have problems, this is the guy that helped me: Karl Koch

Subject: Licensing problems with basICColor Display 4.1.2
Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade my basICColor Display from 4.0.0 to 4.1.2 and I'm
getting problems with the "machine-id" generated by this software. Each
software version report a different machine-id and, of course, the
protection routine doesn't allow me to install it. I "love" this copy
protection mechanisms....
Does anyone have (or had) the same issue I have ?
Best regards,
Lorenzo
