No. Those prices don't include sales tax. Check the Adobe site
yourself if you don't believe me.
We've all cut Adobe plenty of slack over the past few years.
Putting up with the huge amount of legacy code that has made their
products a nightmare to use with OS X and with Intel chip architecture.
Putting up with expensive solutions to problems that can be solved
ten times faster using Core Image - because it was part of a
ubiquitous package.
Being forced to buy inferior products like GoLive when you already
had Dreamweaver.
Being compelled to use Illustrator when you know that Freehand was a
much more powerful production too.
Playing along with the marketing-lead 18 month upgrade cycles even
though half the features that we see in the betas are missing from
the final products.
And how do we get paid back?
With no competition in any area apart from page layout and by
subsidizing cheap upgrades for US citizens.
Let's see if an Adobe representative is prepared to justify this
price differential in public?
