Lee,
Don't take my word for it, invest in a decent UV lamp and check that Epson
paper yourself under the lamp light: if it glows then you know for sure that
any kinds of readings from this paper will be affected by the presence of
optical brightners.
You can use a UV-cut filter on the instrument to make the readings or you
can use a non-UV-cut instrument and count on your profiler to apply some
kind of spectral correction to the measurements. Or you can decide to do
nothing and live with it. You may like what you see -- who knows?
I know a lot of folks who can't be bothered by optical brighteners in
papers.
