U.S. Sheetfed vs. U.S. SWOP

I am a long time retoucher/correction artist for web offset publications. As I browsed through my ICC profiles that come with Photoshop, thought I'd compare U.S. Sheetfed vs. U.S. SWOP just to see how much larger the gamut of sheetfed would be. To my surprise, the SWOP profile was much bigger!

Can anyone explain this phenomena? Is the U.S Sheetfed build from a press radically curved back to behave well with U.S. SWOP seps?
