Do I just walk into my favorite hardware store and ask for "white expanded
polystyrene foam"? Or would you happen to have some kind of brand of
material that you know correspond to this description?
It's pretty much everywhere, in fact it's an environmental menace.
In north America, I understand it's often called (wrongly) "Styrofoam",
Styrofoam actually being a Dow Chemical Company trade name for
(blue colored) building insulation based on extruded polystyrene foam.
[Since this is an international audience, I don't know
what you'd call it locally, so I tried to use a technically
unambiguous term.]
I'm sure you can walk into a specialist or building supplier and get
sheets of the stuff, but you are likely to have smaller amounts readily
to hand - disposable foam drinking cups, coolers, formed packaging materials
being quite common.
