I'm sorry you can't find the software this week. Last week was a
holiday so
I think maybe we can cut some folks some slack. I can't send you the
software, that's not kosher or legal. So until you can get the
software, or
a different unit, we don't know what the issues may be on your end.
" I can't send you the software, that's not kosher or legal. "
I was going to let the responses you made go, but I have to call
exception to one.
I find the mere suggestion of this offensive. Not only would I not
request, nor suggest, what I use I purchase.
SInce you claim to be so plugged in within NEC and testing I only
asked you point us "the list" to where we can buy this "rumored"
standalone software. Which you havent.
Then you went on to say it is in stock in bundled form, also not
true. I went to the website and called NEC yet again.
To conclude, when I locate for purchase this software I will report
what I find as a comparison if anyone has an interest. What I did
present is what I have found communicating thru ColorEyes Display Pro
with standard ddc/ci calls to the NEC display. Now I know NEC also
has proprietary protocals not shared with the outside industry. What
remains to be sen is whether or not those proprietary calls are of
value. They may or may not be. Now, last time I looked NEC made
monitors. From a glance this week they are still in the monitor
business. Maybe if their toolkit were available like many other
monitor companies much of this thread of the last 4 days wouldnt
exist because people could easily benchmark performance themselves.
Maybe NEC could learn from Eizo.
ps............I called PC Connection (where I bought my monitor) also
this afternoon since NEC hasnt returned calls yet and asked about the
software.....................they also didnt know of the software I
was asking about.
