in on the Eizo CG241W or really drawing much of a comparison to the NEC.
A better comparison would be to compare the NEC 2490 - that's more like
apples to apples. Having set up and calibrated both displays, here are
some key features, comparisons and observations:
Thanks for this info Joseph.
BTW, according to Eizo website the CG241W includes an S-PVA panel. When
doing a product comparison on Dutch Eizo site it says S-IPS. Doing the
exact same comparison on the German website it says S-PVA?
I've also seen IPS mentioned on other websites.
According to http://www.flatpanels.dk/panels.php: 24 inch 6 ms (g2g) S-PVA
(Samsung LTM240CS) panel.
Anyway, I finally made up my mind and decided to go for the Eizo CG241W.
Both CG241W and 2690 SpectraView are undoubtedly excellent displays, but
I'm kind a fed up with the lack of response and support from NEC. I've
sent several emails (NEC Netherlands, headquarters in Germany), telephone
calls that aren't being answered, supplier Colour Confidence reporting
support issues with NEC. Then there's the software issue, SpectraView II
tied to US, SpectraView Profiler (BasICColor development) for Europe, the
vague/unclear differences in specs between 2690WUxi and 2690 SpectraView.
