Hello. I've been a Mac user for 10 years now, and I work as a digital output specialist. We're forced to use PC's because of my supervisors lack of vision (pc's = cheaper), but our design dept uses Macs and CS3 for the bulk of their design work, and are currently just beginning the transition from quark to indesign. We have a PDF workflow, and we're using the onyx rip suite of apps (currently using 7.1). I'll post a few issues with this if it's not off topic in a later post. We're having a few issues with it. 2 HP 5500ps and 1 Z6100ps 60. We also have a lambda, but it's not used with the onyx rip.
I've recently been introduced to the world of color management at work, since everyone was having a hard time getting consistent color. I just sort of filled the gap, started learning, made a few correct choices, and am now one of a few that make decisions for our company in this area. Everyone in our area has a different idea of how it all works, and of course, they all are the one who's right :¬P
I took a class at xrite this past september. "Integrated Color Management", and became Apple Certified for color management in MacOSX, and have since been put to the task of now showing everyone what I've learned. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find high resolution images of the chromacity diagram, or any related images that might be helpful? I'd like to put together a graphically rich PDF or keynote slideshow that people could keep on hand as a reference to the specific things they'll have to deal with on a regular basis, also tho so they can better understand what we do on our end. (trying to create a more welcome dialogue between the print shop and the design team ;¬)
Thanks! And I look forward to being a member of this list
Any links to high res images of chromacity diagrams and the like? (just wanted to summarize so no one missed that nugget)
jesse
