Regarding Tyler Boley's question about IT8 targets for scanner
profiling:
If you have an iOne or a SpectroScan you can create a NEW dataset to
describe the IT8 target.
This is a good idea, since they are photographic paper, and they do
fade.
Although this is always a good idea what Brian suggested, I would like
to add the following remark:
Old targets fade, and fading includes bleeching out, which is nothing
else than loosing saturation.
You use an IT8 target for profiling, so the target should provide the
maximum color gamut
to the scanning device. If the gamut is small, you might get it "
right" for unsaturated colors,
but not for saturated colors.
An alternative is a new cheap IT8 target from Wolf Faust,
