Specifically what separation settings to use.
Separation settings can depend on the media you're using, and how you'll
be using the profile. Ink limit setting for indigo profiling isn't as
much a necessity to prevent drying or set-off issues as it is simply
setting the point where maximum density is achieved. I'd start out(
after calibration/Lut generation or G7) by outputting a total area
coverage target along with your profiling target (one is available free
at www.hutchcolor.com) on your media to determine your TAC settings. If
your printing CMYK images prepped for another process (i.e. TAC already
defined) and will be converting to this profile, or emulating another
process, I'd simply leave the TAC at 400% when generating the profile.
I'm a big fan of GCR, even though ink savings isn't so much the issue as
simply a more stable separation on press, so I would suggest max GCR
with a black start of 5-10%, but this is subjective.
Also, I would profile the Indigo in as much "the middle of the road for
its consumables and maintenance as you can, rather than right after
maintenance/replacing imaging components.
