Roger is right. The Solux lamp is without a doubt the best choice for color accuracy, the only problem is that it's likely to be too bright for a comparison to a typical calibrated monitor. Since it will change color temperature if you dim it, figure on adjusting the intensity some other way like distance, bounce light, diffuser or filtration.

Solux task lamp. I paid mine $150 cdn last year and it's the next best thing
to a true D50 simulator (which we know does not exist yet). Take a look at
the BabelColor site. There is PDF which includes actual comparative spectra
of the Solux vs D50. If you reall want to squeeze the last drop of good
light out of that lamp, you'll have to rig yourself a variable power supply
and turn the voltage on until the lamp yields the desired chromaticity. I
use my EyeOnePro in ambiant mode to make the measurement.
