Marco,
Clearly a problem here. Perhaps a more convincing type of presentation may be using their own results, showing the outcome based on how they work versus how they could work. Sometimes one only confronts self--delusion and appreciates what is crap when it sits beside the same thing done properly. But if this kind of demo wouldn't persuade them, then they don't want to be persuaded and that's a show-stopper I guess.

Hi Mark.
You would think so, but, speaking about design firms and designers (with whom I've had many years of collaboration, and who are usually, and understandably, very sensitive to issues having to do with "look and feel"), they often respond to a presentation of the advantages of color management by noting -- after clearing the glazed eyes off their unimpressed faces -- that what they get is already "pretty good", so they don't see a need to fix a problem that they don't perceive.
Of course, when you ge a chance to go and actually look at what comes out of their "pretty good" workflow, you realize that it's anything but, and often ranges between mediocre and horrid. Still, that's a whole other topic altogether, having lots to do with psychology and the art of self-delusion... :-)
