Mind you, 50 pages of 'dense information' is not going to be a hit with most designers and photographers I know... Hope there are lots of pictures ;-)

If I put back my Mac to 1.8, not only does it feel more like I'm using System 7 again, it just looks wrong (to me).

That's what I assumed: you've become so accustomed to the 2.2 look, that now 1.8 looks wrong to you. But you are certainly aware that 1.8 is how the designers of the GUI intended it to look?


I'm certainly not intending to go back to matching my gamma to the LaserWriter or any of the other
(apocryphal?) reasons for picking 1.8

The reason would simply be to see the GUI and movies like they were intended to be seen by their creators.
