With help from William Hollingworth of NEC, I found a way to calibrate my new NEC LCD2690WUXi-BK-SV monitor - with my intel Mac Pro, using SpectraView and the supplied X-Rite eye-one display 2 sensor.
Here is what I did:
1)When the SpectraView Target setting window opened (the one with Broadcast Video, etc.), I went to the right of the list of targets and found the little "edit" button.
2)I chose Gamma 2.2, D65 for the white point, and 120 for intensiy. Those setting work for me.
3)I then saved the new target settings with a new name - "NEC-Mac."
4)I ran the calibration with that as the target - and it looks great.
I found the 1.0.42 update here:

Many thanks
Dick

Glad I was able to help. You may want to download the latest version
(1.0.42) as it has some more presets including one that is closer to
what you are using.
Also if you don't mind, please post a follow up message on the forum
for the sake of others who have read your post so they know it's
solved and is not a problem with the software.
Thanks
Will
