I don't see any way that 50 initial patches can provide enough detail to even
determine where fine nonlinearlities are occuring. I'd give it the benefit of
the doubt and assume that 50 patches, and a second iteration of 50 might, at
best, offer results similar to 150 intelligently chosen patches in one pass...
plus the inconvenience of waiting for a second dry down. I find visible
improvement in additional patches above this level. Members of this list have
previously agreed that somewhere between 800 and a thousand patches seems to be
optimal for many combinations.
