I've been using two EyeOne Display's for years, one on my NEC 2690 and they
run fine! Assuming that all units are poor due to a test with admittedly 3
samples isn't much to go on. After all, do you have any idea how many such
units are out in the field? How many have been OEM'd?
In my tests, using the EyeOne Display 2 then an EyeOne Pro
Spectrophotometer, the white point differed by a bit less than 500K, but
keep in mind, this is a wide gamut unit, the current EyeOne Display matrix
isn't "expecting" this.

To answer your question, the NEC colorimeter EXCEPT for the one that ships
with their LED unit is an EyeOne Display-2 they OEM (like lots of other
companies). The one for the LED is a special OEM EyeOne Display-2.

Not the product sold in the US (and maybe elsewhere outside of Europe). My
comments of ratification with the product are based upon the US, NEC built
software. And in Europe, its not ColorEyes but BasICColor I believe.
Now what the differences are between ColorEyes, and BasICColor, and the
relationship of these two companies is a mystery to me.
