My profiles are all loaded correctly. It's just that the external
display is no longer the "default" display for ColorSync. So
something like a Safari window on the external display will be using
the laptop LCD profile for color management. Safari can only deal
with one color managed screen at a time. It uses whatever is the
default display for every screen.
The issue may be putting the computer to sleep. I'll try that to see
if it works but sleep really isn't a viable working option for my
laptop use. I use many odd network configs (VPN back to my studio)
and shared network drives. If I forget to disconnect from each one of
those before putting the machine to sleep, I'll spend WAY more time
waking it up than if I just shut down completely and restart cold once
I'm in a new location.
Using Clamshell as Scott describes may work as well but again it
involves using sleep... a complication I don't want to deal with in my
situation... and one would think... shouldn't have to. If the system
is smart enough to know which display gets the menu bar automatically
why isn't it smart enough to know which is the default ColorSync
screen automatically upon startup?
Thanks,
