Colour Temp - gel shifts

question about gels and colour temp

i'm measuring the colour of the light coming off my brons, through 1/4" plexi, and pola gel - it hovers around 4750 and 4800K (copy setup arrangement - two lights)

i throw a 1/8 CTB in front, which is supposed to cool the temp 200K

sounds good in theory

re-shoot, and i get 5150K - so what gives?

the Lee gel is supposed to provide a mired shift of -18

but anyhow, it's a 200k cooling gel - so why the 400k jump?

any ideas would be appreciated - i'm anally targeting 5000K just to tweak my colours a tad more since I do hyper-accurate copy work - my known targets are measured assuming D50 illuminant
