I have the opportunity to improve the lighting in our digital darkroom,
which is currently a little cool and has daylight in the mix.

I would like to aim towards ISO 12646.

I am looking at specifying all Solux 4700K lamps and setting the lighting
levels at the desks at around 64 LUX the monitors to 100CD/m2 D50 so that
print matches screen

however...

That means taking my Apple cinema displays (23in) a long way from their
native white point. They don't seem to calibrate as consistently at 5000K -
100CD/m2 as at their current 6500K 120CD/m2 (I have 40+ of them).

Is it better to go with the 'ideal' Solux lighting and force the monitors to
5000K or light the room to 6500K?

your views would be much appreciated.

Rob.
