I used to use the SF IT8, and it was pretty good--no problems. Also
used EyeOne and PM5 (essentially the same), Fuji ColourKit,
Heidelberg ScanOpen and I forget what else. All were good. Scanner
profiles are never as accurate as output profiles, but they all gave
good gray balance. Just be sure to set density range for the raw
scan generously, a gamma that gives decent shadow separation, with
the middle gray patch (#11) in the 100-120 range or thereabouts and
you should be OK. For reflective scans you can make your own
reference files with the spectro you have. Results from color-managed
transmissive scans will normally require lightening no matter which
profiling app you use because of the mapping of film densities to Lab
in the original reference measurements.

yes I've used it for years, it's works just fine. After reading some
recent posts here I'm trying the eyeone module now, but have no direct
comparisons yet.

Hi all,
Has anyone used SilverFast's AutoIT8? Any problems/issues?
Thanks,
