Roger, are the actual G7 NPDC *calculations/algorithms* in the public
domain or simply the graphs illustrating the tone curves?

Terry,
I think, since the recent adoption of ISO/TS 10128, the idea of
matching a
print process to a "tone curve", which is what G7 is about, is in
the public
domain now.
Roger
I believe the actual curve calculations as embodied in the IDEALink
Curve software would fall under "intellectual property". You would
have to find some way to reverse engineer them.

Hi list!
I'm trying to compute the NPDC curves used by the G7 method. The
definitions are found in E.4 p.49 in Calibrating, Printing and
Proofing by the G7 Method v6. However, it only describes the target
curve (please correct me if I'm wrong). How do I compute the other
infinite number of curves for different maximum neutral density?
