Thanks for the reply. You are absolutely correct. A member contacted me off list and tipped me to the polarization. It's got to be, because when I read patches with the XRite 500 in both statusE and T the only difference is in the yellow. MR told me that they used narrow band on all the primaries, but I doubt it. Most likely polarization.

We're working on getting the GTI bulbs in the pressroom although GTI says that the reflectors and geometry in the luminaire would still put us out of spec.

I work prepress for a printer that installed two MAN Roland 23x29 multicolor presses in the last 4 years or so. The new presses have scanning densitometers that work in Status-E. The SID cmyk numbers in Status-E are quite a bit higher than the Status-T the pressroom had been using prior to these installations. The pressman are, how should I say it, reluctant to run to the higher numbers, and our quality, print contrast etc has suffered. The presses also come installed with D6500 lighting on the console

If the number between Status E and Status T are significantly higher across the board (rather than just yellow), its likely there is a polarization filter incorporated as well, no? In any event, correlating the values from the Status E densitometer to an offline densitometer (or spectro-dens) measureing Status T might effectively train the press operators to hit the correct Status E values.
As far as the D65 lighting console, any chance of fitting it with D50 bulbs?
