Color Eyes Display Pro's on-the-fly "white point tuning" feature also
deserves note. Few things could be easier or more helpful for fine
tuning. The latest Eizo Color Navigator also has a good white point
tuning feature.
As for ambient light measurement, nearly everything but EyeOneMatch
delivers x,y values these days.

Ahh, the days of Optical and the MC7. Display calibration was full of
mystery and awe back then...
