ensuring no conversion

There still seems to be considerable ongoing confusion about how to insure no conversions are taking place between photoshop and the printer with OSX, PS versions, and driver versions.
I'm trying to come up with something that may insure results over a number of systems. Rather than get into another "what are your settings' thread, may I get list input on the following?

If I have an RGB chart (or anything RGB I want to print un-managed to consider raw output), if I assign "generic RGB", have Photoshop manage colors, and then select "generic RGB" again for output profile, can I force a null conversion, and insure a tag OSX feels all warm and fuzzy about passing on to printer drivers unaltered?

Let's pass on driver settings for now...
Thanks,
Tyler
