Dr and Mrs Eugene Norris request the pleasure of the company of Mr
Reese and Dr Sutter at dinner on a mutually agreeable date, before,
during, or after the latters' travels. The Norrises are, in
addition, amenable to lunch at a Brazilian restaurant on another
suitable day.

Subject: Epson R800 issues with Leopard?
I spoke to a photographer today who gave me an earful about her brand
new Epson R800 not being able to print application color-managed from
Leopard. Specifically not being able to turn off color management in
the print driver.
I remember an involved discussion not long ago about a similar issue,
but I wasn't paying close attention and of course I've now deleted the
relevant posts.
Anyone care to shed some light? Is this as common an issue as she
says? If so, is there a fix or a work-around available?
Thanks in advance.

Andrew,
SilverFast PrinTao is able to do so. It's not free but with US$ / EUR
49,- it's close and you get "RIP"-functionality with your regular
printer driver on the side.
It's how I print my targets for building a profile and the way to do
it is by choosing <No Profile> as a printer profile and <None> as
default icc profile in the options.
And just before anybody asks: No, SilverFast PrinTao will not require
a scanner ;-)
Best,
JAN

I used an R1800 (which is the A3+ version of R800) since last week
without
any problems. You can easely turn off color management in the printer
driver
and it work perfectly. My guess is that R800 driver should be the same
as
the R1800 so it should work as well.

Jan-Willem Rossée,
I use SilverFast with my scanner all the time but I did not know they
also
make a useful print driver utility! Economical too.
Thank's!

Doesn't seem to be a problem with my R800.
Just where you find "no color management" changes, depending on which
application you're printing from, but it's there.
Perhaps your photographer needs to download 7 install the latest Epson
R800 Leopard-compatible printer driver?
