Is it possible to convert a GMG ColorProof04 .mx4 profile to a

John,
In Profile Editor v. 4.5 you can export an ICC profile directly for
softproof purposes (not conversion).
Other than that you can (in 4.x/4.5) export the target data and with a
single edit of the text header (creator should be "LOGO ECI2002") you
can build profile in, say, profilemaker pro which will work just fine.
I often import measurements from a press (lab values) evaluate the
data by looking at every single grid point/fulcrum in a curve tool and
if necessary (which is almost always) smooth out the data to even out
kinks in the curves (automatically or manually), export the data and
build a profile with the smooth data. In most cases this will yield
better conversion data and well as more accurate proofing profiles.
