GMG has smoothing functions built-in which allows you to smooth the
measured ("target") LAB values. Unless you're dealing with standard
characterization data sets such as Fogra39 or GRACoL2006 Coated1, it's
almost always necessary to take the "raw" press data and smooth it
somewhat. GMG has some pretty powerful tools in their Profile Editor
module to do just that.

I often import measurements from a press (lab values) evaluate
the
data by looking at every single grid point/fulcrum in a curve
tool and
if necessary (which is almost always) smooth out the data to
even out
kinks in the curves (automatically or manually),
