>Steve, I am curious. What about the software makes it the best or are you referring specifically to the hardware?
The software is good though I think that Eye-One Match is pretty comparable these days. I can't remember off the top of my head if Match makes 3-D LUT profiles though, I recommend those for LCD screens.
The primary difference is the hardware. The DTP-94 has temperature sensing (and compensation) and from what I've heard, also has field-upgradable tables so it can ba altered to work with large-gamut displays, etc. It continues to do a great job in the field... see below

Well, a marketing successor does not make a technical successor. For most, the Eye-One Display will work fine for their needs, I just prefer the DTP-94. It's fair to say that their OEM customers prefer the DTP-94 as well and that's why it remains in production (though there could be other reasons as well such as software API). I suspect that X-Rite is working on the next generation product which will succeed the Eye-One Display and satisfy the needs of the OEMs so it can replace the DTP-94 as well. That is pure speculation on my part though, I am not privy to that kind of info from X-Rite.
In the meantime you'll do fine with either and X-Rite says they will support anything they make for seven years after discontinuing so either choice is fairly safe too.
Regards,
Steve
