Have you seen and tested it? Specs in a brochure is one thing, having
your hands and eyes on it may be something different.
And it is not the first 30bit LED backlight monitor in the market. NEC
deserves this credit for the SpectraView 2180 Reference which was
introduced some time around 2004. And the only graphic card that can
drive this kind of monitor at 10 bit per channel – at least the only
one I am aware of – is a Matrox Parhelia, not exactly mainstream and
not available for our favourite platform ;-)
But nevertheless, it´s good news that this technology becomes
affordable now.
