Exactly. Why struggle with OS and drivers etc. if you have so many rips out there? Some of them are really great.

Rips can keep printer linearized (calibrated) and will allow to use the same profile all the time.

What do you do if you spend great deal of time and effort building great icc profile if your printer is not stable and it will drift away when you install new ink cartridge? or humidity changes in the summer or winter? Print test charts and build a profile again?
