Yes, but... wouldn't it be great if you could just Print from the
app, not
have to go through the pdf workaround? Hmm, didn't it work that way
in OS 9?
(I seem to recall that the pdf route was only needed to print to a
non-Postscript printer)

We have never met, but I do remember your flying pigs image from way
back here in San Francisco when all this digital stuff was coming of
age. Good to see you around still.
Yes, I wish for a cohesive implementation for color management that
is OS driven so we can print consistent color from any application,
but the real problem is that not all apps are ICC aware. With this
simple fact, trying to request an OS manufacture to have a one size
fits all printing scheme - to me - is pointless. Dogs and cats
living together kind of thing.
What we really need is a file process control device or system within
Adobe applications to control color space preservation as the files
go down the line. At least then, there will be assurance of assign
and convert matters that will take most of the guess work out of
blaming an applications handling the file or blaming the output device.
