I guess the question here is one of intent. Do you want to proof what this sheetfed file is gonna' look like after you convert to a newsprint colorspace OR do you want to show how truly awful this thing is gonna' look on newsprint as it is?

In the first case: Yes. In the second: No. And each would need to be set up differently.
