Munki business

More on the Color Munki:

I have had one for about a month now, and I have tried everything it does.

It makes nice printer profiles. I compared one from the Munki to one from my iOne Pro (with PMP 5.08). They are very similar.

I did several display profiles. They also seem to be comparable to other instruments. Very nice software.

And, yesterday I profiled a projector. Wow!

I have used the Beamer and the iOne Pro before, and the results were fine. But, the Munki is faster and easier, and the result was that my students were seeing much better (not perfect) color on the projection screen compared to my MacBook Pro screen.

The only visible difference was in the contrast of the projector, which I write-off to the light source and color mechanism inside the projector (Epson projector).

Roger is right, the color palette in the Munki software is handsome. It makes nice, compatible palettes for Adobe products and for QuarkXPress. It is really lovely software.

And, now that I have the Munki, I can take my MacBook and go out into the world to get sample colors from real-life objects.

I haven't done that since I had a Colortron!!

What a clever device!

Best wishes,

Brian P. Lawler
