Bob,
I agree. And I think this is the approach I've suggested twice over when I recommended that someone with the means and the interest (e.g. Adobe?) translate all of Uli's stuff into English so they can more correctly know what he did, properly evaluate it in the detail he has originally presented it, and then tell us what they find. The Adobe people, however, are really tied-up now with CS4 and their resources are obviously stretched at the moment, as Chris indicated. As well, I sense from Chris's comment that at least he is not genuinely convinced that even if they had the time they see the need relative to the technology they have put on the market. Fine. So perhaps a third party with no vested interests and no such pressures - if such a party can be found - should do this review and evaluation. This examination may either reveal the need for more work, or indicate that what was done is pretty conclusive. Any one who takes this on would need to adhere
to the guidelines that we're talking about accuracy, not looks, and we're setting aside philosophical issues about openness and portability - those are second-order considerations that become interesting once the relative quality of the technologies has been established in a way that reasonable people would accept as valid.
Mark

views on "looks " as opposed
to accuracy etc etc ...has anybody disproved , or attempting to
disprove scientifically Uli's observations above ? Just establishing
that might move us on.

Bob Marchant.
