One question I have, though, is the following: do *all* device link

destination profile within them?
AFAIK, no. The only one I'm familiar with the has the *option* of
embedding both the source and destination into the link is Link-o-
Lator. I suppose that information could be used to tag the destination
profile to the converted image but I have no idea applications have
access to the embedded destiantion profile even if it's there. In the
case of Link-o-Lator, it was intended as a way of re-opening the link
in the software and changing the link parameters without needing to
assign/select the source/destination all over again.
