- Thread-topic: Printing profile test targets WITHOUT photoshop
Hi folks
Please pardon my query if the answer is already contained in the archive but
I have not been able to find it so far. My main question is how do I go
about handling a print profile test image so that no modification is made to
the colour space in the process. In answering that I would like to
understand the consequences of the assignment of Generic RGB to my images
when using the Preview app to print. There is a hint, as I read it, of a
suggestion that this only affects the display colour profile and not the
printing profile. Is this correct? I can almost convince myself that
loading the test image in to Preview and allowing my printer to manage
colours (Epson R2400) but explicitly disabling colour correction in the
printer driver at the same time will give me the desired result. But I have
this nagging feeling that perhaps the colours are indeed being modified by
Preview?
Can someone give me the straight answer on this? It will be very much
appreciated. If Preview cannot do this, does anyone know if a non-colour
managed OSX app might serve the purpose of printing untagged image data
through the Espon printer driver, independent of Colorsync?
Thanks in advance of any responses.
Cheers
j
