Eizo makes it quite clear in its warranties what the recommended luminance
levels are and what levels void the warranties.
"The warranty period of the backlight is warranted only if the monitors are
used within the recommended brightness of up to and including 80 cd/m2 for
the CG222W, 100 cd/m2 for the CG221 / CG211, and 120 cd/m2 for the CG301W /
CG243W / CG242W / CG241W / CG232W with the color temperature between 5,000
K-6,500 K and limited to three (3) years from the date of purchase subject
to the usage time being less than or equal to 10,000 hours."
So none of them is suitable for 140cd/m2 you mention, and I use my CG210 and
211 at 80, as recommended. I'm typing this in a daylight illuminated room
with the monitor at 80 - no problems. I do partially darken the room when
doing color work.

All
I'm saying is there are some very expensive monitors on the market that
don't last a lifetime in normal usage and when the time comes to replace
them, after they go from 140 to 120 to 100 to 74 cd/m2, in 3700 hours of
usage, the replacement better not cost the same price as the original,
otherwise it does not make sense to buy such expensive monitors in the
first
place.
