Paul,

I believe this depends on the version of CP XF as well as the version of the profiles. Earlier PSO profiles may be ICC v. 2. I'm pretty sure that ICC v. 4 was not supported under XF 3.1 and did definitely cause problems. Was this partly OS-specific? I don't know and simply avoided the combination.

I have used an PSO uncoated NP profile on a EFI XF rip with no issues, and
with very good results.
