Peter,
There is another option....if one uses a RIP doesn't preserve 100%K
text-only, but that does supports device links, and one uses Device-Link
software (oh, uhm, like Link-o-lator) one can preserve 100%K text there, and
then use that specialty link in your RIP.
As you said, this will go a long way to thinning type, but still keeping it
dark and black.
I should say that in Link-o-lator, this is a hidden feature...but if anyone
wants to know where it is hidden, they can contact me.
