Alex,
I think that it would be best if you bought an *external* desktop monitor to
connect to your laptop, and not use its built-in display at all for
color-critical work. Laptop displays are notoriously difficult to calibrate
and profile, besides exhibiting pronounced shifts in appearance depending on
the viewing angle.
In other words, if you need to prepare images that will later be printed
either on press or high-quality inkjets, and to soft proof them as carefully
as possible ahead of time, you cannot count on your laptop's display for
either accuracy or reliability.
