X-Rite is very carefully controlling access to the reflective portion of the Munki SDK. They are rather firm about not wanting the instrument used for reflective readings in the press room and prepress. While it makes sense for them from a market-division point of view, I agree in this case that it's just not the appropriate instrument for that task.
The fact that a RIP supports it - even if only for relin - is a surprise to me.
