I guess it depends on who does the implementation/consideration. Though I clearly believe in the superior usefulness of DeltaE 2000, there is quite a lot of lingering confusion in imaging circles around the subject of how to account for measured color differences in practical situations, and the solutions are far from clear and unequivocal.
