Hi Roger,
I haven't tested the the new Standard Proofing Paper *240* yet but I
have used the 205 gsm version with OUTSTANDING results. Perfect match
for GRACoL C1 with no OBAs. It's my "default" recommendation for any
G7/GRACoL customer of mine. I've even used it on non-Epson printers
with equally impressive results. An added bonus with the 205 gsm
version is that you get 164' on a 3" core.
I'm eager to test the new SWOP C3 paper they just introduced. Up to
this point, I've been recommending Epson's Proofing Paper White
Semimatte for SWOP3 customers. It's a bit bright (L*96-97) but the
coloration is dead neutral so you only have to darken the paper a bit
rather than "tinting" it with a different color. Folks generally find
this less disturbing (darkening the media) as opposed to shifting the
paper color itself to match the standard.
Both of these papers produce an impressively high Dmax/min L*.
Regards,
Terry Wyse-n-Heimer

I was wondering what experiences and opinions, if any, you guys (and
girls)
had with the new Epson Proofing Standard papers (Lab value of 95.0,
0.0,
-2.0 / Semimatte finish)?
