And yet the CIE 1931 Standard Observer still seems to be the best
statistically-based "educated guess" available so far of human spectral
responses
From my very brief reading on this subject, it seems as though the data on
which CIE 1931 is based, came from just 10 people tested by Wright and 7
people tested by Guild in London. The results of these two minute samples
seem to have been averaged, combined, smoothed, and irregularities removed,
to provide the basis on which all of our color management rests!
Have I missed something?
Bob Frost.
