Ah! I stand corrected. Maybe I should now ask if any software or measuring
devices support CIECAM02 color difference tolerancing?
What I took away from this thesis (besides a migraine) is that the
non-Euclidean dE2000 equation is quite competent, despite being based on a
non-uniform colorspace, and that optimized CIECAM02 difference equations
function similarly to dE94/2000. I didn't get whether it was determined that
a Euclidean difference metric based on CIECAM02 was any better than a
non-Euclidean difference formula based on CIRCAM02, though the spherical
shapes "look" better. Unless I'm missing something, which is entirely
probable. This one would take several readings to digest.
