And I agree - the viewing angle is incredible, and the blacks are as

often see on LCDs, either.

One of the weaknesses of Plasma displays has been the pixel level control. The native response is linear, and the initial displays had only something like 16 or 32 linear levels, making for very poor shadows and gross posterization. The "fix" was to dither like crazy, leading to a lot of dynamic noise and noticeable remaining posterization. Do you think the display you refer to has effectively tackled this problem ?

Posterization or poor shadow detail? I've never seen it on this display. To the contrary, the images look stunningly realistic, to the point that you can forget you're watching a TV. I've watched people flinch and try to move when watching a Blu-ray "Pearl Harbor" on the 60" unit with a good sound system. It's unreal.
Like a pair of Mythos ST SuperTowers in a 7.0 system (you don't need a separate woofer--300W sub in each ST). Absolutely awesome with good Blu-Ray sound tracks!!! Obviously a good B-R player, and a good amp/decoder is also necessary. Yes, its better than most theaters!!! Lordy, Lordy! An also true is that with good source material, there is no visible posterization. Although it can be clearly seen with some 8 bit video tracks, especially sky and underwater scenes. Again, its not in the display.
By far more intense than a movie theatre.

Happy movie-time,

David
