Hi
I would concur that Shades messes up your colour management by
downloading a "tint" into the VLUT, but would like to be proved wrong.
You should try Basiccolor Display 4 from http://basiccolor.de/english/Datenblaetter_E/display_E/display_E.htm
You can download a (28 days?) free trial. Does a very thorough job and
works with i1 pro and Display devices. Plenty of options (L* curve,
etc.) which might take a while to learn, but has a good manual. Of
course if Apple (and others) built displays with backlighting could
be adjusted to the correct luminance and colour temperature......
Good Luck,

Hi -
Has anyone calibrated their new iMac 24" monitor. I've used
Profilemaker 5.0.8 with an Eye-one Pro and wonder about the monitor
brightness. The monitor was delivered at full brightness - about 340
cd/m2! At minimum it is about 240. This is still much brighter than
our standard at the Library.
The white point is 7100K. After calibration the eye-one measures it
at 7200K. I haven't figured out any way to use monitor controls or
the Apple calibration procedure (advance mode) to specifically
decrease the blue a little and increase the red a little.
Comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
-Barry
