Hi David,

I believe Karl Koch and some others could step in to provide further details
(L* is old technology, I understand?) but my understanding of anything
CIECAM-related needs some kind of ambient-level decision. Unless I'm very
wrong, it uses a different curve according to the state of adaptation of the
observer.

Need to do further reading...
