Just to be clear Thomas, this is simply a re-juggling ("streamlining") of XRite's current offerings but is not the actual consolidation of the Monaco PROFILER and ProfileMaker applications into a completely new product, correct? I've been hearing that the fully merged profiling product won't appear until about Q4 of this year. Can you confirm this?

I can appreciate XRite wanting to move the current products with "Platinum" offerings at aggressive pricing but it would help to know if there is an upgrade path to the rumored consolidated product that's supposedly in the works so as to protect one's investment in current products.

Regards,
Terry Wyse

For the sake of clarification and to stop the rumors: Beginning of June we
will be streamlining the various product options within the ProfileMaker 5
solution line to a simple, comprehensive offering: “ProfileMaker 5
Platinum”. This will basically combine the software offerings of PM 5
Photostudio and PM 5 Publish Plus for an interesting new price. (The price
for Monaco Profiler Platinum will be adjusted accordingly). Also Profile
Maker Platinum will include a new release of Measure Tool which will add ISO
12647-7 conform validation of proofs and support for the Fogra Media Wedge
3.0 and the IDEAlliance ISO 12647-7 2009 Color Control Wedge.

I heard from Xrite that they are planning upgrades for both software any
week now, has anyone heard anything about it?

I own Monaco Profiler 4.8.3 and I also have an old copy of PM4.x I am not
sure what direction to go now. Should I upgrade my PM4 to 5.x and see what
Xrite does? I am not sure why they would keep both products going and not
just invest in one.

Any thoughts?
